Privacy Policy
Your data, explained plainly
Most of what you do in starnode never reaches us at all. Here is the honest, complete account of the little that does.
The short version
We built starnode to keep your data on your machine, not on ours. This page explains exactly what we do collect, which is a lot less than most software, why we collect it, and how you can ask us to delete it. If anything here is unclear, get in touch and we will explain it in plain language, no legal team required.
What the website collects
When you join the beta waitlist, we ask for your name and email, and optionally your company and a note about what you want to build. That information goes straight to our database, hosted on Supabase, so we can email you when a build is ready. We do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to advertisers. It exists so we can reach you, nothing more.
Your account
An account is optional: the editor runs without one. If you do create one, whether you sign in with Google or with an email and password, we store your email address, an account identifier, your credit balance, and a record of each hosted model call: which model, how many tokens, and when. We do not keep the messages themselves. Google sign-in uses Google’s own authentication, so we never see or store your Google password.
What the editor stores
Your code stays in the folders you open. The editor’s own settings live on your computer in its user data folder, the same way VS Code’s do, and your sign-in is kept in your system’s keychain. When you send a message to a hosted model, it passes through starnode to the model provider to get the reply, and we do not keep a copy.
Cookies and tracking
We do not run ad trackers, and we do not sell data to third parties. The site uses a small number of technical cookies from Supabase, our authentication provider, to keep you signed in if you choose to sign in. An account is optional: the editor itself does not need one. That is the extent of it.
The services we rely on
We keep our list of vendors short on purpose. Supabase stores waitlist submissions, account data and credit records. Google handles sign-in if you choose that option. Anthropic answers messages sent to hosted models. Cloudflare hosts the website itself.
How long we keep things
Waitlist entries and account data stick around for as long as your account is active, or until you ask us to remove them. If you want your information deleted, you can delete your account yourself, straight away, on your account page or in the editor's Account Details; that removes your sign-in, credits, usage history and feedback. Or a short message is all it takes, and we will remove it within a reasonable time. We are a small team building something honest, so please be patient with us, but we will always follow through.
Your choices
You can ask to see what we have on file for you, correct it, or delete it entirely, though deleting your account means you will no longer be able to sign in to starnode. If you are in a region with specific privacy laws, such as the EU or California, those rights apply to you the same way they would with any other request.
Children
starnode is not directed at children. You need to be at least 16 years old to create an account and use starnode, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger than that. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Changes and how to reach us
We may update this policy as the product changes, and we will update the date at the top when we do. If something ever meaningfully changes about how we handle your data, we will make that change easy to find, not bury it. For anything at all, questions, deletion requests, or just to tell us we got something wrong, use the contact link at the bottom of this site and a real person will read it.
